| The Every Child Matters Policy Agenda |
The Every Child Matters policy agenda promotes the introduction of a national common assessment framework as an important part of a strategy for helping children, young people and their families to achieve certain outcomes.
The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is to be used where the child has additional needs and the means of meeting them is not immediately apparent. The CAF is a key element of the communication where more than one agency is involved. It is intended to be the main assessment tool to support inter-agency referral and multi-agency working.
